 Edmund Bogen founded Breakfast Network with the goal of building a networking service that would help successful professionals find new business opportunities.
A public relations expert with his own established firm, Bogen began producing networking events in the late 1990s that focused on technology and new media topics. When the dot-com bubble burst, he decided to put his skills to use in other business-to-business markets. While most networking organizations burdened their members with logistical and operational issues, this new venture would enable clients to focus solely on their networking objectives and offer them a management structure that was accountable for their success. Bogen’s expertise in the marketing and publicity arenas made him uniquely qualified to head the enterprise.
Breakfast Network launched in New York City in November 2001. Initially, it served 50 clients in 3 monthly networking events. Since then, it has grown to encompass dozens of events each month, with close to a thousand members. Events are currently produced in Long Island and Manhattan, and in 2005, a London presence was developed. Breakfast Network continues to grow in both participants and services, and Bogen plans to expand to key cities across the U.S. and global markets in the near future.
